Hypothetically speaking, what if PAC and DLH fought each other in their primes, and lets say both were natural 140lbers. In this case, no one would have to jump up any weight divisions, nor does anyone have to lose weight and risk being "weight drained". Who wins?
Prior to 12.06.08 I played this mythical matchup in my head over and over and each time I had DLH winnin'.
That's because I didn't picture a disciplined PAC fighting DLH. I had envisioned PAC to be his straight ahead self with his vintage 1-2's.
Well, 12.06.08 we finally saw. Yes, I'm a PAC fan, but I also expected DLH to have atleast added 10lbs by fight time, that's why I picked DLH on 12/06, simply due to size and style.
However, DLH being weight drained was not the only reason for the beatdown. De La Pollo 2008 was the same De La Pollo that fought Whitaker, he still did not have answer for the southpaw style! Vintage De La Pollo showed his true colors once more, that once pressure hit, he couldn't deal with it. He didn't even want to fight.
Imagine if Whitaker would've just pressed De La Joto more in that fight many moons ago, I think the outcome would've been different.
De La Pollo's kryptonite are southpaws, movement and pressure fighters, and PAC has all three. This is why a Prime PAC beats a Prime Joto.
Everyone is lookin' at JMM's style as if Joto could apply the same gameplan against a southpaw, well, there's no denying De La Joto is an intelligent boxer, but he simply can't deal with a southpaw, and this weakness alone, is enough for a PAC victory.
Apparently, PAC really didn't need the right-hook. The one-dimensional PAC that blitzed Ledwaba and Barrera would've done just fine on 12.06.08
