He is a great guy and a great fighter, but i bet these people who are jumping on his bandwagon will be chastising him when or if he loses. Pac deserves all the plaudits, but i just feel some of these fickle idiots will turn on the guy if he loses again.

    And that is wrong imo.

Well, your post revolves around how the 'general public' sees Pacquaio- but you ask the boxing fans on the forum to give you their thoughts. I feel like the general public includes casual fans of the sport, mainstream sports fans (ESPN ticker watchers), and those that know almost nothing about boxing and only watch fights with huge media buzz. (Mayweather-De La Hoya for ex.)

The general public thinks whatever the media tells them to. If they don't follow boxing they're only aware of the clips, information and spin that they given through HBO, ESPN, etc. How do I feel that Pacquiao is being seen, then? Well, I believe the media is definelty portraying him as a whirlwind force. It's easy to do when- win or lose- Manny comes to fight. His highlights look grand. Just the type of stuff that Sport's Center can play and make people go, 'Oh, he's good'.

Boxing fans, for the mots part, respect Manny Pacquiao and I think the general public- those who have heard of him- think he's the best in boxing.

Yeah yeah yeah. I guess you're right.

I'm not really into mainstream media propaganda myself either. It's funny that you mention the media. The day before the "Nightmare Match" there was a fat article on DLH and Pacquiao. It was a pretty lengthy colum. When was the last time boxing was on the front page? or even talked about like a mainstream sport?

The article didn't have nothin in it though, not like the articles on this scene, but it's amazing that they're [media] trying to make it mainstream.

                yeah, sucks for those fans.

For the record, i've been down for Pacquiao the first time i heard his name in the Filipino community. I put that on anything. I remember watching him when he had the highlighted tips. And i did research when he was on the undercards.

Of course when you get wind there's a Filipino fighter out there you're going to check him out. I don't support Pacquiao just because he's Filipino. His style appeals to me. Pacquiao's really down to fight and i'm all about that.

Yeah, since like the early 2000's i've been following Pacquiao.

I can't stand the bandwagon fans. Those are the **** and roaches in society.

No one expected Oscar to win on skill. more to due with size. But it didn't work out since he was 147

Yes Mayweather dominated and figured him out by round 4 and was about to stop him until the low blows

Floyd has nothing to do with this thread

Pac is the best fighter in the world ATM and a top 25 ATG IMO

Although i do feel that many have overrated him since his fights with Diaz and DE LA Hoya
