    Fighter of the Year thread....

This is what ESPN Boxing has right now:

    Year Fighter
    2008 Manny Pacquiao
    2007 Floyd Mayweather Jr.
    2006 Manny Pacquiao
    2005 Ricky Hatton
    2004 Glen Johnson
    2003 James Toney
    2002 Vernon Forrest
    2001 Bernard Hopkins
    2000 Felix Trinidad

Uhh..damn son....2006 and 2008. This Pacquiao guy must be good or somethin? Or he could just be another over hyped over rated fighter.

Word on the streets is that this Manny Pacquiao character mopped up Oscar De La Hoya....i thought he was the Golden Boy?

All jokes aside...to tell you the truth i would say Bernard Hopkins for 2008.
    Yeah, Pacquiao or Hopkins.

Hopkins should get the lifetime achievement award like in "Fight Night 2"
He's been fighting since 1988. 1988-2008, that's fcukin 20 years. People don't have cars that old.

I'd easily take Pacquiao over Hopkins, I mean he did not look good against Calzaghe, he looked like a guy on his last legs. Pac had trouble with Marquez but he still fought a great fight, not so for hopkins.

I personally feel Hop or Pac.

Hop because many felt he won the Calzaghe bout, and it's obvious a Prime Hopkins would have owned Calzaghe silly. His Schooling of Pavlik was just icing on the cake.

Pac also was heavy underdog, and beat DLH by TKO so.. close.

I'm not really a Calzaghe fan, but ya gotta give him propers against Hopkins.

Then again, i still need to analyze that fight.

Pacman for me, definately not Bhop.

Haye has a chance for breathing life into the dead HW scene if nothing else.
