          The difference between pac and mayweather is that nobody is asking him to prove hes the best due to his own comments of being the best. Pac hasnt fought alot of the best fighters at 130/135, guys like juan diaz, joan guzman, humberto soto, nate cambpell, etc. I give him a pass mostly because he doesnt go around claiming hes the best. However if pac did boast himself, he would certainly be accused of ducking. The path he took is very similar to mayweathers

          diaz=/=baldomir then De La Hoya.

          But as far as actually taking on the best fighters from the said divisions, id say pacs career is much like mayweather now, megafights at weights they dont belong in for big money.

          Pacmans biggest difference from mayweather is their personalities. Because before mayweather became money-may, before mayweather started mouthing off, he was one of the most appreciated fighters on this site and in boxing as a whole, there were no "burners", no "flawless". The only people really into him were purists even though he was a first ballot hall of famer by the time he left 135.

          Im one of the few people here whos into pure boxers, and by pure boxers i mean, guys who treat the sport like a religion, floyd is one of the few pure boxers left, there will be another fighter like pacman, maybe not filipino, but pacmans come and go, but guys like mayweather, juan manuel marquez, christian mijares, nonito donaire, bernard hopkins, and ivan calderon are getting rarer and rarer.

            tnx for reading my pac nut hugging thread
            Love it

            On the flip-side, I caution you with the Floyd-nuthuggers reply:

            Floyd never lost and before anybody says he did against Castillo (despite getting the Nod by the judges), it's hard to argue he lost the second fight. And it was Floyd that wanted the second fight. So, Floyd beat every opponent placed in front of them, while Pac, never avenged his two KO losses.

              In a way you might be right.

              I think it may be because Floyd had the natural talent mixed with having the "ART" beaten into him since a young age, so for him, he rarely showed any vulnerabilities...until he got older, which might be part of the reason he retired.

              For Pac, he had natural talent, but was led more on the Rocky Balboa path: Ups and Downs but when he finally got with the right trainer, he blossomed. Something like that.

              Floyd was given to us as a full grown beautiful tree, while Pac, had to have Mr. Miyagi nurse him back to health. People tend to favor the second because they can relate to imperfection. Even though Floyd has them, they are disguised better because he was polished much sooner and before we could see the previous.

                at the lower weight classes Mayweather was an exciting fighter so I won't diminish his accomplishments

                but I agree as far as personality goes

                Pacman's a real humble and likeable person whereas Mayweather acts like a "new money" douche

                    i agree with this to some degree. pac does fight in divisions he has no business fighting in. yeah, we heard all the "pac can't make 135 anymore" stories but still he is now after the money fights. hatton and floyd would do wonders for his resume if he wins, but its all about the $$$$ for him at this point.

                    that's as far as similarities go in my opinion, besides both were recognized the consensus P4P King

                      Nice guys are cool. And there's plenty of room in boxing for nice guys. But boxing wouldn't be boxing if you never had characters like Mayweather, Bernard but especially Mayweather.
