Ricky is the best at 140. The end. Pacquiao has yet to fight at 140 so his talents there are up in the air. A defeat against a weight drained de la Hoya at 147 isn't going to convince me that he can beat Ricky Hatton at Ricky's money weight. I am surely not counting Pacquiao out in this fight (I'd say it's 50/50) but Ricky is a firm test for anyone, especially with Floyd Sr in his corner. I can see Floyd Sr really giving Ricky a great game plan and polishing Ricky even more before this fight. Floyd hates Roach and he wants to prove something.

As far as Sr heading to Jr if a Mayweather/Hatton rematch gets a green light, I doubt it. FLoyd Sr is a proud man who wants to teach his boy a lesson. Imagine a Detroit black guy getting whipped by a British white dude who was trained by his father. That isn't just shame, that's embarrassing for Floyd. Oh boy I can't wait!!!

Manny has 3 defeats, yes. One in 1996 (12th fight, only a year after he turned pro), and one in 1999. The last defeat was a very close UD against an absolute boxing master, Erik Morales, who is vastly superior to Hatton in every department. He avenged those losses by knocking out Morales twice. By the time Pacquiao faces Hatton, it will be 4,10, and 13 years since he lost. Add into the equation that Pacquiao has only improved since then, and the losses become kinda insignificant.

Hatton has only a slightly higher KO percentage than Pacquiao. It's literally one or two percent at best, but Pacquiao has had more fights (53 vs. 46). Considering Pac's had more fights and still has an almost identical KO ratio, Hatton doesn't actually have an equalizer at all.

If Floyd Sr. is in Hatton's corner, it's not a good idea. Why? Because if Hatton does somehow beat Pac, he'd likely rematch Floyd Jr.

Floyd Jr. will want his father in his corner for that fight. And then what? Floyd Sr. exposes all of Ricky's weaknesses to Jr. and Ricky gets stopped even quicker than last time.

It's not really looking good for Hatton at all. I'm not saying he can't win, but he is already one step behind. Respect to Ricky if he pulls it off.
More chance of hell frezzing over, and i reckon Jr worked out Hatton's weakness the first time he knocked him out.

Smith is probably right, styles make fights and hatton's wrestling style is all wrong for Pac.

Questions were asked if Pac would carry his speed and power at 147. Look at DLH and the answer is written on his face. Now tell me this, if Pac carried his advantages at a higher weight, how would his speed and power do in a weight class lower.

Pac skipped 140 and said "Ill get back to that weight class after I embarress Delahoya." Hatton is dominate at 140 but Pac has proven his dominance in uncharted waters.

            Sorry it's a little long

OMG!!! You know after that bull***** i gotta speak on it....

Pacquiao's style is tailormade for Hatton. Hatton is a wide brawler with looping powerful hooks. Sometimes they get sloppy, but they are effective. If Mayweather's str8 right and pretty much slow down Hatton and then demolish him, what do you think Pacquiao's str8 left will do to Hatton?

Pacquiao is a southpaw. Who was the last southpaw Hatton crushed?

In the article he mentioned, Kastidas and Kosa Tszyu. Neither of them are on the same level as Pacquiao.

Furthermore, the fight is scheduled for May 2nd. Training camp starts on Feb 1st. That's damn near 5 months of training. Pacquiao is a hog when it comes to training. And 5 months is a long time for Pacquiao to be training. I'd be careful if i were Hatton.

I don't think people really don't know who the fcuk Pacquiao is. I'm talking strictly from a fighting perspective. Pacquiao is a born fighter. He loves dog fights. Hatton is also a scrapper, but Pacquiao's gonna get him on this one.

I really like Hatton and his fans. I really want Pacquiao to absolutely destroy Hatton. Like whoop on him like he's never been whooped before. Much love to Hatton though.

Pac moves too much to get mauled by Hatton. He's got the skill to mix movement and defense in wit his power punchin nowadays. I don't think Hatton will get to him enuf to overpower him in close.

Can you count? Feb 1st to march 1st is one month. Feb 1st to april 1st is 2 months. Feb 1st to may 1st is 3 months. Almost to the day. Even a little less when you consider February is a short month.

                I appreciate your perspective, though.

This the same guy that actually thought his figher beat Juan Diaz and called the fight a robbery?

                  yea, ok.

Pac would beat up on Hatton. Too much in and out movement, I actually think the fight would get stopped on Hatton's face either being cut or swelling too much.
I'm basing my prediction of a Pacquiao win on my observation that Hatton has a suspect chin. Anyone who gets that badly hurt by light punchers like Luis Collazo and Juan Lazcano is in for a long night with a puncher like Pacquiao. Hatton's not got much defense, and I can see Pacquiao landing hard, straight lefts on Ricky's face as he comes in. I figure that anyone who can punch should be able to beat Hatton at this point. That's why Malignaggi was a good choice of opponent. Any other elite-type fighter around that weight class has a great chance to knock him out. I'd also include lightweights like Nate Campbell, junior welters like Ricardo Torres, and welters like Judah, Cotto, Margarito, Williams, Clottey, maybe Berto all to KO Hatton.
but you could counter that by saying cos pac has been knocked out too,he has a suspect chin!!! i think your a bit of a hater!
