Alfonso Gomez wants war with Hatton at 140 in 09

Although Gomez's power at 140 is yet to be seen, this wouldnt be a terrible matchup. Hatton is not a huge puncher and they both fight at round the same pace.

However, I do also believe this fight shouldnt happen until late 09 earliest as Gomez does need to prove himself at 140. He should start with a high level tune-up just to see how he fares in the division. Someone like Francisco Figueroa, or hell fight David Barnes on a Hatton undercard. Someone on that level. If he pases that test, a high level challenge, the likes of Paulie, Torres, or Ngoudjo. If and I do mean IF he can do that, then he can get a crack at Hatton. IMO...

Gomez has gotta build himself back up after he got whomped buy Cotto. He didn't even put up the good fight I thought he would. And Bradley, Holt, and Zab will want Hatton at 140 after Pac, so no way Gomez gets it.

Gomez didnt land one good punch on Cotto and has never beaten a fighter who was any good, or wasnt wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy past their best (see Gatti). I dont believe it would be like the Cotto fight, Hatton doesnt have the punching power. Although I see you as a disturbed person to wish that fate on anybody you fights to make a living
