At his age it will be hard for him to bolster his resume enough at this point. Unifying at lightweight would clearly seem to be the first step though.

Take more risks. You can blame a lot of it on his managers, but in the end, if he really wanted to fight someone bad enough, they should have pushed it through. ATGs are defied if you ask me by taking risks. Not sitting back and just going with the flow. They should push through to make big fights happen and take chances. JMM I think waited to late but he has afew opportunities left. I think if he can ever get a 3rd fight with Manny, it would be his last shot. But there's no saying he's gonna win. He never got it done the first 2 times. Maybe if he can stay on his feet for once, he'll win. On the other hand, he can just rule the division he's in because it is very rich and talented, and saying he is the man at lightweight would mean a lot. JMM and Floyd are examples of "could have been" because they have the skill and talent no doubt, but their lack of desire to pursue a challenge put their greatness in question. I say this moreso on Floyd than JMM because now all a sudden in his elder years, he's deciding to go after the very best. He might of waited too long...

If he can't get past Morales and Barrera's accomplishments he won't.

True but Floyd has 2 more fights left...Pac and a top WW. JMM has more to do if he wants to be an ATG

You think it is too late?

I don't think he can do it, because of his age and previous managerial mistakes, it'll be almost impossible to do. But if he could clean out lightweight, beat Hatton, Pacquiao, and Mayweather at jww and then beat Cotto at ww I'd consider him an a.t.g

If u appreciate heart, he is already great!! In the first fight with Pacman,to get up the way he did and keep fighting to that well deserved draw,it does not get much greater than that!!!!!!1
