nothing bizarre about the stoppage.. you're there to fight 12 rounds, you can't make it 12 rounds then that's on you not the ref. He didn't respond to Steele.. Steele had no choice but to stop it.

I'm not arguing. I think the stoppage was correct to be honest.

There has to be some sort of brightline on when it is okay to stop it or not without allowing for refere intervention, and the only fair way to do that is declaring the final bell as the last moment that a fighter can be stopped. If there is any time left at all, a stoppage is fair game.

I do think he could have asked maybe one more time if he was okay... MELDRICK... ARE, YOU, OKAY?!?

Looked like he responded to me, Steele said he didnt hear him say what he wanted to hear. Many fighters shake their head instead of talking, heck there is a huge mouthpiece in your mouth.
