Holyfield claimes he won, and wants the decision overturn

now that Holyfield lost to Valuev last saturday night, he might get a rematch to their highly controversial fight. I doubt the the WBA would overturn the verdict to their first fight. In honesty, that fight could've easily went either way. Both fighters weren't doing much.

    Good luck, Amanda Oldyfield!

    Holy deserves a reversal.

You got a link, btw? Is this in an article or something?

I think you will find the vast majority of boxing experts and fans will disagree with you.

Surprisingly, 38 of 40 writers who were at ringside scored the fight for Valuev, maybe it's one of those fights that look different from ringside, from TV it's clear Holyfield won IMO but maybe Valuev's work looked better from ringside.

Anyways, he won't get the decision overturned, the best he can hope for is first crack at the winner of Chagaev-Valuev 2.

          That is indeed incredibly surprising.

WOW, do you have a source for that?

I wasn’t there, Chris, so I didn’t score the fight publicly (stay tuned, because I will release my score publicly for the very first time!). My colleague, Martin Rogers, was there, and he had it 116-112 for Valuev. Our blogger, Steve Cofield, had it 116-112 for Holyfield. Watching on television, I thought Holyfield won, 115-113, but it was a terrible performance by both men. Martin was surprised to hear so many people watching on television felt Holyfield had won. He told me in an email that 38 of 40 writers covering the fight in person who were polled by a Swiss newspaper had Valuev. I’m not sure what to make of it, since I wasn’t there, but I know that both men stink and either would get cremated by a decent fighter.
Boxing's lack of quality heavyweights has hurt the sport, but some bright, young talent is on the horizon.
