There is basically three of his eras to pick from
1998/99 (Pre Byrd)
2002/03 (Post Byrd/Lewis)
2004
2008/09 (Now)
He also had a 4 year layoff, and started boxing at 25.
I say 1998/99 pre Byrd, he punched with more ferocity and moved extremely fast around the ring for a big man, he was also 28 years old. After his surgery, he toned it down and became more conservative with his style.
2002/03 He fought Lennox Lewis, only to get his eye cut up. This fight however I do not think showed him at his best, because he took the fight on 2 weeks notice against the undisputed heavyweight champ, when he was preparing for Boswell prior.
And now we see the 37 year old Vitali, perhaps proving to be a Bernard Hopkins. Which I think with his added experience can make him out to be the most dangerous out of any other time of his career.
