        No he was not although he beat Sonny Liston in his next fight after struggling against Cooper.


        I would say that Ali not taking Cooper too seriously is part the reason of why he was knocked down and made to look bad...

        He was running out of worthy opponents at the time, Ali being out of boxing for 3 years gave young fighters such as Frazier, Ellis, Quarry an opportunity to make a name for themselves. Frazier came out as the best of the bunch.
