Santos won against Margarito but the fight was going the same way the Cotto fight was going when the fight was stopped, Margarito was starting to take over by that point. Santos is probably the better fighter technically but Cotto is probably a more complete fighter.

Both of them are very talented but I think Cotto is the more complete fighter of the two. Santos has the talent to be great in this sport but because of his inactivity and bad managment he has never been a star. I hope to see him in the ring against Paul Williams in 09, maybe if that happens he can show what a great fighter he (Santos) really is. Another great fight I would like to see is Santos vs. Margo III at 154 (Santos cant go down to 147). That should be a hard but interesting fight.

If Cotto can beat Margarito impressively than I'd go with him, Santos has been KO'd early in his career before by the 5th round, and Cotto at 28 has 30 fights under his belt. But Santos is really good too, supposely his style was too boring or something but he gave the people what they wanted against Margarito.

Santos has amateur career with record 117-3 and Olympic Bronze Medal.
          That is crazy.
