What boxer has stayed in their prime for the longest time?

Usually, a boxer is in his prime for 5-6 years. Some fighters seem to be able to buck this trend and stay in their fighting prime for longer and in some cases a lot longer.

Who do you think has stayed in their prime for the longest time?

A lot of fighters have a late prime, but I'm not sure many have a long prime.

according to the welsh hopkins is still in his prime.

according to them hopkins was in his prime from AFTER his fight with roy to NOW when calzaghe beat him.

hence roy didn't beat a prime hopkins whereas joe did.

oh yeah......and roy jones is still in his prime too.

The best B-Hop I seen was against Johson, Mercado 2 and Antwun 2. Better then the B-Hop that faced Tito. Prime B-Hop had 15 round stamina...B-Hop now is very preservative on his energy

Danny Williams. The scary thing is... he may not have even peaked yet.

PEAK; that's what I call it. I use a number system like video-games
If you are still in the 90's, you are in your prime. I would say against Tito, Hopkins was like a 93 Prime. Of course, given his age, the numbers fall a lot faster which is why we saw a decline right with each fight. His intelligence is what enabled him to continue to win at a high level.

As he got older he started to pace himself a lot more because that Old Car had a leaky gas tank so he calculated brilliantly how much pressure to apply to the gas pedal.

I'm not even sure if many actually know Hopkins had a career before Tito.

He was out of his prime by Robert Allen (III) since he didn't look quite as good to me and according to Allen, Hopkins wasn't as good and didn't have the same power in his punches (despite getting knocked down).

Note: Robert Allen fought Hopkins a total of 3 times so if someone is going to know; it would be him. Allen was stopped in the second fight.

**** that ****... Hopkins has had two primes.

His Executioner side was in his prime during the Trinidad days, and his ring control side was in his prime against Tarver, Wright, Pavlik, etc.

Hopkins has stayed on top longer than anyone else... that is my answer to the question.

Yup...B-Hop was pushed out of the ring 1st fight and got hurt. 2nd fight B-Hop whoped him and he became B-Hop's mandatory 3 rd fight like WTF lol.

                    one question...

will the young B-Hop (roy fight) beat the older more experience B-Hop?
