1st off let me say that Im totally shocked that this fight is happening so quick after being made but as a boxing fan I completely love it.
Now back to the topic. Everyone is talking about Margarito-Cotto, then Margarito-Mosley, then Margarito-Floyd, but I think Shane is a very live dog. I always think that Shane has more left then other people beleive. Also, I think Mosley's style is just made to beat Margarito.
Mosley has lost to some bigger guys but all 3 have been great boxers. Margarito isnt that. He's not going to have to worry about how to do this or that and he's not going to have to worry about Margarito outboxing him or his jab. Mosley is a guy who also likes to attack from the jump while Margarito is usually a slow starter. Then you just look at the success that a Cotto & Clottey had against Margarito. I can see Mosley easily being able to duplicate it. The difference is that I think Mosley is a much more steady fighter then Cotto so I could see him maybe not keeping it up for 12 rounds but still being able to hold his own for 12 rounds. He also isnt the kind of guy to go into a shell and put on handcuffs like Clottey does.
Basically Im saying that Margarito is a monster but he's still slow and like a zombie at times. I could see Mosley landing this blistering rights & lefts that might not shake Margarito up but they will get the crowd & judges attention. He will have all the oohs & awe's shots. Then he also has a granite chin & body which can take shots. I also think that Margarito has a great chin but he will get hit way harder in this fight then any fight in his whole career. Mosley has faced alot of big punchers and has been hit with big shots. Margarito was hit by Williams but he was slapping, Clottey also doesnt clinch his fist, and both Cintron & Cotto have power and hit him clean but I said after each fight that neither guy ever stepped into there punch because they were always on the move or going backwards. Even when they were set it was just a regular punch but if you watch Cotto & Cintron fight other guys they will straight lean into the punch and dig into you. They couldnt do that against Margarito because of there fear of him but Mosley will do it. Mosley will commit his punch against anyone and I think Margarito will feel these shots.
Im not saying that he will win and Im not saying that he wont even get killed but I could definatly see Mosley winning this fight and it wouldnt be shocking to me. At the end of the day even the die hard Margarito fans have to admit that he's not an ATG type of fighter. He's just a big bad ass. That will make him very very very hard to beat but his overall skillset still makes him very beatable if you bring the right strategy and have the right type of skills and I think Mosley has that. I dont think Cotto has that and I think he's a fool if he fights him again anytime soon. Unlike Cotto, Mosley has fought a ton of bigger guys and he wont be discouraged by Margarito's size, height, or strength. Its just not going to shock him like it did Cotto. I think Mosley knows that Margarito starts off slow so I think he will be on full attack the first 3 rounds and then try to box the rest of the fight but he will be far more steady then Cotto. His overall combination of speed, power, accuracy, and determination could give Margarito fits. I see alot of toe to toe action later in the fight and I could see Mosley giving as good as he gets because of those things I just named. Again, he'll have all the oohs & awes punches
