    Brian Minto

What is the story with Brian Minto? He doesn't seem to get much attention. Why is everybody ignoring him? Anybody got some good gossip about Minto?

Not entertaining to anybody, or so it would appear. Poor Minto, people don't even take the time to **** on him.

He can't be very good, since he keeps fighting poor quality opposition.

He lost to a fringe contender, Luan Krasniqi, and to an old man, Tony Tubbs. Since Krasniqi, he has fought only clubfighters, people not even rated in the top 200 by BoxRec.

Joe Mesi has quite a collection of tomato cans on his resume, yet he gets lots of attention. Of course he is a big draw and Brian Minto is not. As a matter of fact Minto has tried repeatedly to get a fight with Mesi, with no success. If "he can't be very good" why wouldn't Mesi fight him? Those are the kind of opponents that Mesi specializes in.

The quality of your opponents is largely a matter of the quality of your promoter not the quality of your skills.

Mesi KOed a fringe contender in D. Williamson, while Minto lost to a fighter on the same level, Luan Krasniqi.

Mesi has been in with several good fighters (Jirov, Williamson, etc) and won, Minto has been in with only two (old Tubbs and Krasniqi) and lost both times.

Mesi > Minto. When Minto fights another decent heavyweight, he will lose again.

I will respect Minto if he ever defeats a decent opponent.

I cant see why his name even keeps coming up on this forum... As far as I have seen, he's known for beating Vinnie Maddelone twice and losing to Krasniqui. THATS IT. Is he even ranked?

                He's #15 WBA and #12 WBO.

The greatest flaw of the sanctioning organizations is that a fighter doesn't even need to defeat a top 100 fighter to get into those rankings.

Will you respect the "decent opponents" who are ducking him?

WHAT???!!! Get the **** outta here I had no idea he was ranked like that. You are right, all you need is a promoter/manager to pay someone off.
