He will if and when he fights Floyd, everyone wants to see that fight, even people that don't know anything about boxing want to see that fight. In any case, I have only seen about 3 Valero fights so far, but from my observations, if you can avoid his straight left, then you can win, because that seems to be his knockout punch, when I have a chance I will watch some more of his fights so that I can have a better feel for his fighting ability.Comment

I doubt you'll see much more than you saw already. Dude has one punch -- a straight left. That's it. He is limited in a Pavlik kind of way. His straight left is also pretty slow. Watching his last few fights, I found his timing to be easy to predict. All you gotta do is time a counter just right.. and BAM! Right on his jaw while his mouth is open. Any decent fighter with some pop should be able to KO him, or at least make him look average and win on points. He will if and when he fights Floyd, everyone wants to see that fight, even people that don't know anything about boxing want to see that fight. The guy is completely untested.
Let's have him actually fight a live body first, before stepping in the ring with Manny.
From what I've seen, it looks very sloppy, slow and gets hit a lot, and this is against C level competition.
Other than being heavy-fisted, I see absolutely no other qualities in the limited footage that I've seen of the guy, that would suggest that he could beat Manny.
I would like to see more of him first, that's all.
In the meanwhile, Manny is on a roll, and at this point in his career, fighting Valero would be taking a step backwards, until Valero proves otherwise.Last edited by deliveryman; 12-29-2008, 04:15 AM.Comment
