By Cliff Rold - Drawing up this latest installment of the year in review on the same day as EVANDER HOLYFIELD-nicolay valuev (not a typo), it would be easy to look at the sports biggest men and act on raw emotion. It would be really easy to cite Holyfield’s turn back the clock moment as the bridge to Heavyweight of the year. The December 20th bout, for the few who saw it, will be one which perpetually causes the shake of the head that says, “It’s Boxing,” in the bad way. It demands some justice. [details]

Nice piece! Vitali's win was definitely a pleasant surprise. I would argue that he is the world's best heavyweight rather than Wladimir.

For Cliff
It seems almost nostalgic-sort of "deja vu" that my very first letter for a long time is for a Cliff article. I don't mean it as criticism, but merely to point out that there are so many fights postponed either from injury or various other means that they "litter the freeways" all over the world, particularly in the U.S.and are no wy unusual.
SO WHY PICK ON Vitaly Klitschko, who as Cliff rightly points out, is the Heavyweight of the year. {as is Sam Peter the HEAVY heavyweight of the year}.
One can hardly read a boxing page without seeing umpteen reports of varieties of postponements for varieties of reasons........................
Anyway folks, a Happy festive Season to ALL.................including Cliff.

good pick for hw fighter of the year, i personally though vitali, even though he only fought once, deserved it. he pretty much hit peter at will, whenever he wanted and make peter look like a s**ty sparring partner, and the best part, peter gave his bro pretty much all he could handle and dropped him 3 times. pretty much says it all for me, vitali is obviously the best hw right now reguardless of which bro has more titles
