That's just an excuse. As long as a boxer is from PR they will support him even if they nothing about him.

And when they do step it up they get beaten down (Cotto, Trinidad, Camacho, Collazo, Cintron and so forth). Watch, when PR's next biggest hype job Juanama Lopes steps it up against Marques or Vasques he'll be the next to fall. There are only like 3 places on earth where you can build a rep in boxing and still get respect: United States, Mexico and the United Kingdom. Just something I've noticed. Sorry but true.
The UK sucks, do you see anyone showing respect for Jennings whos fought all his fights in the UK? Did you see any respect for Ramirez who was undefeated in 25 fights before getting owned by Gamboa? And there are more mexicans nobodies that fight bums before getting beaten when they step up.

Fact: Puerto ricans become champions with less fights than other countries' fighters.

            Check our three champions

Calderon became a champion with 16 pro fights
            Juanma with 22 fights
            Santos in 25

            Then you got Mexico

Vazquez 38 fights and his best opponent is Rafael Marquez woop de do and his first title was vacant
            Marquez over 30 fights
Cruz is a vacant champion with a win over a nobody

            Then you got the US
Williams 28 fights a champion and still hasnt got a title defense
Pavlik in 32 fights became a champion with like 1 or two defenses and everybody is already calling him the best Middle.

And then the UK..... Actually the UK has pretty good champions
Calzaghe with 24 fights although vacant so I guess they wont be calling out Cotto.
Hatton in 39 fights(If the world boxing union title is one of those weak titles)

O yeah did I mention that unlike mexicans, puerto ricans dont lose to nobodies?

also one of our journeymen "Jose Angel Beranza " recently exposed your highly touted prospect Jesus Rojas
Things like Erik Morales KO2 Angel Chacon are counted in that list too.

              Dumb thread...

Obviously nationality does not dictate fighting skill.

this is the dumbest thread ever... it doesn't even make sense.
most puerto rican boxers are overrated??? puerto rico compared to the other countries you mentioned (US, England, and mexico) should be proud just to be mentioned.
how are collazo and cintron overrated, they are just decent fighters that worked up the ranks like anyone else would. they are not the elite in their division i don't think anyone ever thought they were.

why wouldn't a puerto rican root and support for another fellow puerto rican? theres a huge amount of pride in puerto rico and amonst puerto rican.s.
