If Floyd had stayed at superfeatherweight

I think the biggest mistake Floyd made in his perfect career was moving up in weight and proving that he can dominate higher divisions. If he would have just stayed in the SAME division over a period of years like Bernard Hopkins, Joe Calzaghe or Margarito I think he'd get more respect.

Floyd is punished by his critics just for being better than everybody else. No one accuses Margarito of ducking Kelly Pavlik or Mikkel Kessler, because we all know Margarito can not handle anyone his own height or natural weight. We put this burden on Mayweather because we think he can take it.

We are asking a former superfeatherweight champ to clean up a division 3 levels up from the one he started in! And if this former superfeatherweight refuses to clean up this division he will be considered a coward and a failure!!!

    He shouldve never left superfeatherweight.

Floyd would never have made the money, or gotten exposed as much to the mainstream if he were 130 pounds his whole career.

i thinks it's amazing he moved up, showing people that he is the most skilled fighter in the world. he is much more skilled than margarito, and realy, nobody in their right mind sees tony beating floyd at all. they only hope and dream of it. floyd has never been knocked out, only been knocked down once legitimaley against judah, which was a flash kd, and another time, he hurt his hand, and touched the canvas, and was hit, but he's never been in trouble in a fight to the point where he was in danger of being knocked out, tony nor cotto nor williams nor clottey is the man for the job. floyd did fine moving up, becoming a bigger legend in the sport, and time will prove this in the long run, trust me.

Mayweather fighting a guy who is one pound less than him means that he is a chicken and a *****. They want him to fight guys who out weigh him by 7 pounds minimum

As he went into his late 20s and his body filled out, he wouldn't have been able to make the weight any more.

Floyd is too big to fight at 130.

If he didn't claim he could whup all those guys a couple of weight classes up from what you call his "natural weight" and then refuse to fight them, he'd get alot more respect. If you're gonna talk smack, you gotta back it up or you're gonna get called on it. That simple.

Who knows? He might be worthy of being mentioned in the same sentence with some of the top 10 ATGs. I think he has the talent, skill, etc...What he lacks is tolerance for risk. If he is unwilling to take the risks required to provide the proof, he'll never receive the accolades commensurate with that level of greatness, regardless of how desperately wants and claims that he deserves them. And then he and many of his fans act all butt-hurt over it. Just doesn't generate alot of respect.
