I'm a huge fan of Mayweather's boxing skills, but as a human being he is a cretin. It's a real shame. If he really wants respect he needs to drop the 'money' personna and show some honesty and humility. It's a simple recipe to gain respect and win over fans.

Too long, basically, if a fighters calls himself THE BEST, then he needs to fight THE BEST. You aren't the best because you would PROLLY beat the best, you're the best because you BEAT the best. Thats where all this "hate" comes from.

a little out of topic. why did paul williams refuse to fight ANYONE at ww and strictly just beg for a margarito fight now that margarito is on top? Did paul screw himself over by declining the immediate rematch?

Honestly, I think its the latter.
I dont consider myself a fanboy or a hater when it comes to Mayweather. I rooted against him when he fought Gatti, De La Hoya and Hatton, so obviously I was someone who wanted to see him lose. That said, I also openly respect and admire the guys skills, and I love watching him fight. Floyd proved me wrong on several occasions, and that makes me smile.
In order to get respect I think Floyd has to do some simple things: Come back and take out Pac, THEN challenge whoever holds the RING belt at welter, whether its Tony or Cotto. I think he can do that, and most people are upset because they feel he can do that but he wont because he lacks motivation at this point.
All and all I miss having the guy around, he really was awesome to watch and great for the sport of boxing. Hope he comes back for a few hurrahs.
