    Listen up...

Okay.. i have watched UFC since it began. right where royce gracie was beating the really big dudes. i still watch it from time to time with my buddies who are big mma fans. i was pissed when rampage ko'd chuck. i was excited when couture beat silva. i know st. pierre, penn, silva, arlovski, jardine, crocop and other mma dudes. simply to say, i know as much about it as any mma fan.

AND IN ALL HONESTY, MMA REALLY SUCKS

I stopped watching it regularly. I realized that there is nothing "mixed" about it. It became boring. I found it uncompetetive. Its like watching a bar fight. Comparing mma to boxing is idiotic. MMA is in the mainstream because some people cannot appreciate the beauty of boxing. They just want to see dudes beating each other up.

Now i hear people ****ting at boxing for the Valuev-Holyfield fight. It is not a proud boxing moment but please don't compare mma to boxing. I find it insulting.

MMA does require skill and discipline. But it is no way in the level of boxing. For god's sake, your heavyweight champion is BROCK LESNAR who has fought what, 4 times? How many boxers had an opportunity to fight for a belt that early in his career?

BOXING AIN"T DYING. NO MATTER HOW MUCH MMA FANS WISH IT WILL

I really don't think ****ting on MMA fighters is Valid way to disprove that boxing is dying. The sport still generates the highest paid athletes in the world. PPV numbers are still good even though promoters continue to put out crappy cards.

Seriously what exactly makes you think that MMA has underskilled fighters? Just because somthing is diffrent than boxing doesn't automatically make it any less complex. You don't hear Tennis players saying Golf requires less skill do you???

the mma fans started the whole "mma is more integrated than boxing" and mma>boxing ****. based on what i have seen as both a boxing fan and an ex-mma fan, boxing has more finess. it is a more refined discipline. again, I'M NO EXPERT. JUST A FAN WITH AN OPINION

can't see how mma be more exciting than boxing when the most exciting parts of an mma match is when the fighters actually BOX.

Why the **** are you asking a BOXING FORUM?

SERIOUSLY...why the **** is there so many threads about MMA in "NON STOP BOXING".

Take this to the MMA section if you want decent answers...

edit: i sincerely doubt you watched it back when gracie used to fight. but yeah we get the point you know who royce gracie is.

completely agree...have to say that some years ago in Pride and kOne you could see some very good fights where you could see technique, strategy, and different styles of martial arts. Now basically its all about bring ass to take ass and who gets caught hard first goes down and gets pounded. Fast, grimey, good for kids...but very crap boring and useless for someone who wants to see more.

I think they are imposing this **** because uneducated ppl gets bored easily with clinches, grabs, groundwork and ****. they want the knockout. And then another match and another knockout. And then, another.

I've actually found through my browsing of forums that there seems to be a lot more hate from boxing fans towards MMA then there is vice versa. It seems that (like myself) most MMA fans are also fans of boxing.

I have also wondered why all arguments against MMA are either that it is too brutal (rednecks just wanting to see blood) or way too boring (dry humping on the canvas for 15 minutes). Strange how it is BOTH extremes.....

That said, I love both sports, both require tremendous skill, talent, and courage, and I see no problem why they both can't just coexist.
