      Valuev won babies...
Not a pretty win, but what do you expect? Holyfield was terrified the whole fight, running, hugging, & headbutting. The few shots Evander landed were mostly as he was moving backwards. He danced around a lot, but by the end it was obvious he was not there to fight.

I'm not saying that Valuev put in such a great effort either...
It's just that he was better than Holyfield. Simple as that.

Valuev was aggressive almost the entire fight chasing down Holyfield.
Valuev also visibly wobbled Evander with a couple shots.

I guess it must suck to be a euro-hater, you ladies are going to have to get used to crying.

No. What was really needed was a decisive (but not too painful) Valuev win, but what we got was worse than Holyfield winning, Holyfield NOT winning when he should have done because of either incompetent or corrupt judging. If he had won he would have got a bit of history and a deserved big money first defence, dutifully lost to someone such as Wlad, Chagaev or Haye and retired with sufficient cash to pay for his house and send his multitude of kids to a decent college.

As it is we have a WBA champ that is no champ at all because everyone knows a 46 old beat him. And what is worse, while Holyfield fought a smart fight nobody has any illusions how he would have done against the K's, Haye.. all three would have KO'd him within two rounds. He 'won' because, frankly, Valuev was an absolute disgrace.

The best we can hope for is Chagaev comes back, regains his throne in style and then promptly loses it to either whoever wins Vitali - Haye or Wlad.

BTW.. I know somebody has already said it, but was Calzaghe right, or what?

Both fought like ****, but Holy still fought better than Valuev. Period.

                Since they "fought like ****"

The victory goes to the one who at least moved forward the most.
                THAT WAS VALUEV.

The euro-haters are going to have to realize you do not win fights by running like a *****. You have to actually fight.

Besides, IMHO in such "close" fight the decision should go to the one who has the belt.
                WHICH WAS VALUEV.

I watched the fight with the commentary off.

Maybe that is why I have a different perspective?

I admit it was a **** fight with a very scared Holyfiled running away from Valuev the whole fight.

I think the reason most of the euro-haters in here think Valuev sucks is because he scares the **** out of just about everyone he fights. So his opponents run away... and 300+ pound guys just don't run as fast. So yeah I guess it makes for a boring fight.

Fact is that you gotta have balls if you are going to win against Valuev.
Chagaev has balls of brass, thats why he can do it.

                Euro-haters may now resume crying.

The fight goes to whoever landed the most punches and that was Holyfield in most of the rounds. Ineffective aggression doesn't score points, having a title doesn't score points, landing clean punches scores points.

                      Punches that landed?

                      THAT WAS VALUEV!
                      THAT IS WHY HE WON!

                      Get over it babies!

The reason idiots in here think Evander landed so many shots is because the broadcast kept showing a replay in between rounds where Evander landed one of his few punches from different camera angles from the fuggin second round...

Sober up and watch the fight again and skip the damn Americanized replays, Valuev landed a few more times (check out the uppercuts). He also clearly rocked Evander in the 7th and 8th, Evander never once actually hurt Valuev!

Otherwise, I say the fight should go to the guy who wasn't the obvious *****.
                      WHICH WAS VALUEV!

                      Euro-haters may now resume whining.
