Does anyone here think Pacquiao can beat Margarito? He's definitely faster than Margarito. Margarito comes straight forward and is slower than DLH, so what's the difference?

How about Cotto Vs Pacquiao then? They are closer in size, and Cotto is not the most durable fighter either.

    Why not Bob?
Manny wouldn't beat Marg. Freddie and Manny took a one-off chance against De la Hoya. He could easily have gotten his ass kicked. I always thought the fight was a risk, a one-off deal, but one that was worth taking, if only for a good payday and to see how Manny would fare against a naturally bigger, stronger guy. Fortunately, he passed the test with flying colors, but that doesn't mean he'd be quite as competitive with top welterweights. On the other hand, I do feel he could give them a run for their money!

Manny needs to focus on fights no higher than 140.

Margarito would **** on Pacquiao. If you don't think so then make the fight ask Chicken Pacquiao to take the fight if you think its going to be competitive. Either Margarito kicks the **** out of him or Pac is competitive and if he's competitive why not take the fight. So stop the bull****, Margarito would hurt Pac badly.

And when the payday is good Margarito will move up. Just as Pac moved up cause the payday is good. But he did keep moving up from the 106 cause he was out growing his boy body and he was forced to move up, but his fans will say its because he chose too now its because he had to. Remember when people said Pac is a natural featherweight, lol, yeah sure, and for 10 bucks i can buy New York.

So let all the egos go, and have some humility, Pac would get his ass knocked out against Margarito. IF you think other wise then shut your trap and ask for the fight.

It would have been interesting had the fight been at 154 where Oscar was healthiest and wouldn't have had a problem rehydrating to 164+. Manny may have still won, but I doubt in that fashion because Oscar would have at least had the energy to actually fight back. If the fight was at 154, I wonder if Freddie would have even taken it.

Remember, being weight-drained kills you. It was odd to many people that Pac actually out-weighed Oscar that night.

You also have to remember the two reasons why Freddie took the fight: Oscar hadn't made the weight in a long time and fighters his age that had gone back down in weight after being away tended to fail in their return because the weight-loss kills them. And, "Oscar can't pull the trigger."

Please don't let that fight cloud your vision. If you don't take it from me, continue to listen to what Freddie Roach said before and continues to say after in his interviews as to why Pac was able to defeat Oscar at this point in Oscar's career. He even admitted he basically beat Oscar on the scales.

          .

I'm starting to think that your main objective on this board is to do all you can to discredit Pacquiao's win over Oscar, and his accomplishments in boxing in general.

You are in the minority buddy.

Maybe not on this website, but in general, you are one of the few who refuse to give the man his respect for what he's done.

Your comments and opinions on the Oscar fight are all in hindsight, and its very easy to say things like that after seeing the outcome.

No one was making these claims before the fight, and Manny actually took the fight with the odds stacked against him. People seem to be forgetting the fact that Oscar was the betting favorite before the fight.

You are a ****ing mental midget.

Who is anyone on this boxing internet forum going to ask ?

Do you honestly think that anyone here has Bob Arum's cell phone number in their I-Phone ?

Do you think that we have Freddie Roach on speed dial ?

Would you suggest that we send Manny a ******* message and request that he fight Antonio Margarito ?

Sorry; just being honest and Freddie already did it prior to the fight...and then after.

In one of the threads I posted (before the fight) questioned if what Freddie was doing by saying what he said about Oscar would end up coming back to haunt him...well, not him...more so Pac and his fans. However, Freddie was just being honest and I have to respect that especially given it helps give a good perspective of where both fighters were and we can write it down in the books of history for those that ask "why.”

Don't worry; I've had this same discussion with regards to Marciano vs. Louis and other fights/fighters.

Oh, and note, that I had posted a post that said I favored Oscar if he were to come in healthy, but, I felt that it was possible he could show up "Flat" for the fight based on my instincts telling me to remember Tszyu vs. Hatton. Both were 35 or so; had been inactive; both had shoulder injuries; and both were trying to make weight at their age and inactivity level. I also took Freddie's words into account, however; I didn't believe Oscar was shot and still don't think he was "shot" when he signed the fight. The weight-drain
was more of the problem. But he was past his prime obviously...the weight loss just pushed him off the mountain for that fight...and maybe that is a wrap.

People were expecting a "healthy" Oscar like they did when Floyd fought him. Oscar was past his prime when Floyd fought him but he was at least hydrated above 160, which makes a big difference. One has energy, the other doesn't.

Either way...Pac is P4P #1 and is a Great fighter and that's my take on him as far as that. I also think he is the most exciting fighter to watch and seems very humble which is why I like him.
But just because I like someone and am a fan of someone shouldn't prevent me from being objective.

                    I hear ya Benny.

I think a lot of what Freddie said was out of spite. Not to say he didn't believe what he was saying, but its obvious that the media fuled the whole thing as a subplot to market the fight.

I'm sure that he truly did feel this way, but you could obviously tell that Freddie was bitter about the whole situation with Oscar. He admitted that it was somewhat of a moral victory for him with the outcome.

I think spite is what made Freddie take the fight and take advantage of it being at 147, knowing what he knew.

And I think it made Freddy feel vindicated in a way with not only saying what he thought was going to happen, and hoped would happen (since he still had his doubts which is normal), but because in a way, Oscar was trying to take advantage of Manny...and it backfiring against Oscar was something well-played by Freddie.

The downside to this all, and I can start to see it; is that if we go on all this with the full break-down, it can take away from what Manny huggers are trying to get across and that is Pac is truly in full form Right Now...or at least it seems that way. We won't know until he fights someone of JMM caliber.

Like John Scully talked about: Fighters can be much better in the gym than in a fight. In this case, it may have allowed Manny to showcase his full talents, but only because he didn't have someone in there to keep rocking those nerves and off-set him technically...even if his name was Oscar in there; it wasn't the same fighter and Manny noticed that after round 1.

                      Great fighter to watch...no question.
