Hatton-Pacquiao Eyed For MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay

More details are coming out for the first mega-fight of 2009, Manny Pacquiao (48-3-2, 36 KOs) vs. Ricky Hatton (45-1, 32 KOs). There are two Las Vegas venues in the running to host the event, the MGM Grand and the Mandalay Bay. The May 2 bout will take place on HBO pay-per-view at the junior welterweight limit of 140-pounds. Arum [Top Rank head] told boxing scribe Dan Rafael that a few minor details are being worked on, but Pacquiao is on board and Richard Schaefer [CEO for Golden Boy] had revealed a few days ago that Hatton was also on board. Thomas and Mack Center can occupy more seats. MGM is like 16,000 while Mandalay bay is like 12-13,000 and Thomas and Mack is like 18-20,000 seats.

mandalay or thomas mack, mgm is kinda ******.

i like mandalay cuz its the newest and nicest of the three, plus theres only one exit that all celebs come out of so u can hound them for photo ops and autographs.

i like thomas mack center cuz it fits so many Fin people and the crowds more hype cuz it has more true fans verses VIP ******** guests who dont know **** about our sport.

mgm grand is my least favorite of the three. but i wouldnt be pissed if it was there tho

should be at the thomas and mack, hatton fans last yr were pissed off coz the mgm grand only held 16,000 and that was wayyy too less. at least the thomas and mack hold a further 4,000 at 20,000. mandalay bay at 12,000, no chance

If they fight at the Thomas and Mack Centre what happens with the site fee that the Casinos usually pays?

They could have the mf'in fight at Circus Circus and I'd stay at their hotel!!!
So wherever the fight is, I'll be staying. I like all the video's and ad's the Casino plays for the upcoming fight.

How's Mandalay's pool? MGM's was cool and that's going to be first on my girlfriend's priority list.

I'm already excited. I'll prob get there from Monday staying through Sunday. So I can see all the grand entrance's, press conference's, whatever's open to the public.

With Manny and Ricky's crazy crowds the event should be banana's.
