According to the rumors, it sounds like he tried to secure fights with both Pacman and Hatton and failed. Now its Pacman/Hatton and Mayweather is left in the dust trying to get whatever's out there.

No he did not try 2 secure fights with either of them, pacquiao even said he wanted mayweather instead cuz mayweather knocked hatton out and pacman wanted 2 fight da best, mayweather had not fully announced his return and hattons camp was using his name to get a better deal wit pacman, mayweather is just setting himself up 2 fight da winner

man please, all you mother****ers cussing floyd telling him to stay away, know you really wants him back. ya'll crack me up with the flip-flopping posts. if floyd comes back and demands a fight with hatton or pacman, you'd watch it, and you know it. floyd's name is still being thrown around, so he must be the best fighter in boxing still, because the level of skillset today is lacking without floyd, period. fighters know to be truly the best, they have to defeat floyd, and their fans know it also, just admit it already and save yourselves a contradiction why don't you?

Alot of posts saying he should fight Margarito. Umm Margarito already has a full schedule for 2009. Mosley then Cotto and it's quite possible that he won't walk out victorious in both of those fights. For all we know, by june the Cotto hype will be back on.

What Floyd needs to do is take a tune-up fight and go after the Pacquiao-Hatton winner. Preferably Pacquiao if he wins.

Floyd should fight the winner of Cotto-Margarito first then the winner of Pacman-Hatton.

I hope he comes back to face either Pacquaio,Cotto Margarito,JMM or Williams. Anything less is a ***** move!!!!!!!!!

like i said earlier, hatton would fight floyd BEFORE he fights pacman, if he had the chance. he wants to avenge that loss.......only somebody really dissatisfied in their own life would hate on floyd like he's been hated on in this thread......this is the first "confirmed" article about him even considering a comeback, and i say "confirmed" b/c ellerbe acutally acknowledged floyd telling him to listen to offers. before ellerbe said, floyd had expressed no interest in coming back, now obviously that's changed b/c everybody keeps mentioning his name, so floyd said "**** it. if they're gonna try and use me as a negotiating tool, put everbody on notice." now their won't be any bull**** articles about hatton trying to negotiate w/ floyd behind pacman's back, or vice versa. these ******s know if they mention floyd's name now, they better be for real. now, we'll see who REALLY wants to fight him, and who just talks, like the punks on this site........

Bottomline, until Floyd becomes a shot fighter he will NEVER be left in the dust. Its smart business sense to capitalize and stir the rumor mill during the negotiations of his top two opponents, it will only lead to being more profitable once one of the fights materialize. A Floyd/Hatton II is not as appealing as a Floyd/Pac..provided Pac gets past Hatton. Then you have a major fight with a major pay day for both. If Hatton beats Pac you still just setup a more interesting rematch with Floyd for him. All good stuff and it will be interesting to see how it all falls out.
