Is a Holyfield win good for boxing?

It would be a disaster. It would be the ultimate proof of the HW's of this era (outside the klits) being the worst ever.
Boxing might be back on the front page but that would be as a laughingstock. It's bad enough that the fight was made in the first place. What is even more appauling is that I actually think Holyfield has a chance. From his weight it appears as if he's had a good camp and Chageev has provided a blueprint for beating the extremly cumbersome and Crude Valuev.
I still think Valuev will prevail as I cannot believe Holyfield has enough left in the tank to win a decision.Comment

when i was in vegas watching the holyfield vs ruiz III fight everyone was like: OH OK ITS OK Holyfields been champ for a long time and he still holds the only 4 time hw champ record. so people already were like accepting of him losing even back then.
so if he somehow wins sat night. i think it says more about how sad the HW division is than anything. it would be good for him to be the first 5 time hw champ. but he would, MUST RETIRE after that. seriouslyComment

Does he deserve to be 4 time WC ?when i was in vegas watching the holyfield vs ruiz III fight everyone was like: OH OK ITS OK Holyfields been champ for a long time and he still holds the only 4 time hw champ record. so people already were like accepting of him losing even back then.

are u asking me if he beat ruiz convingly in their first fight? or the rematch?
well he lost the rematch as you probably know. the first fight many people said they felt he lost. and in the third fight it was ruled a draw.Comment

Im just asking if you thought he deserved to beat Ruiz first time around, because i thought he lost clearly.Comment

well here's the easy answer. theres alot of politics and BS involved. thats pretty much the reason why they had the rematch so soon right after and all the hype to promote the rematch was all the images and footage of ruiz throwing and cornering hoylfield against the ropes.
i will say this though that night of the rematch in the mandalay bay they made a huge deal about ruiz being the first latino heavyweight champion in history. so they really wanted to emphasize that more so then holyfield just lost or anything else.
the odds had ruiz as an underdog that night so they were trying to play off that their first flight was just a fluke and that holyfield was having an off night.Comment
