Lately I've noticed that little flashes of boxing have been talked about on ESPN a lot more recently. Obviously they did a lot for Pac-De La Hoya, but I think I've seen a fight highlights on Sportscenter every weekend since Dawson-Tarver. They anounced Pac-Hatton is close to done in the breaking news. Holyfield was on Outside the Lines and Sportcenter the last few days (not for the best reasons though). A guy just picked Pacman as athlete of the year on Rome is Burning. Plus the bottom line has been announcing all the big upcoming fights. Is boxing making a bit of a comeback?
Is it just me or is boxing on ESPN a lot?

Ive noticed this myself actually. they actually announced that Vitali vs. Haye had been signed on the bottom announcement banner thing.
all I have to say is that if HBO continues to make good choices in terms of matchups, boxing will get more support from major sports networksComment

Not on nearly enough...
I agree, I think boxing is making a comeback and ESPN, Versus, and Telefutura have a lot to do with that. The number one reason boxing was going downhill was the availability of great fights to the general public. Go back 25+ years ago, and all the major historic bouts were on Free TV.Comment

They just did a Holyfield bit on sportscenter again. Brian Kenney is the man at ESPN. He realizes where boxing is at this state. He said on sportcenter that Valuev is not the true champ, Klitschko is. This is good so the casual fan doesn't think Holyfield is fighting for the undisputed title or something.Comment
