It seems that most fighter who ended up with mental probs get it from a long beating than a KO from the first few rounds.

A Chavez-Taylor type beating is many times worse than a first round KO. A prolonged beating will have many long term effects on a fighter down the road.

So you'll rather get laid out like Jermey Williams did against Samuel Peter? Is that what your saying?

definitely, you can recover from that, a prolonged beating to the body and the head would have more long term effects.

for my size, I would rather be knocked out cold on the first round by Corrales than get beaten to a pulp by say Pacman for 3 rounds.... lol

Some guys don't recover from one punch knock outs either. Roy Jones looks that way. That youngster Allen Green knocked out Corrdington. I'll be surprised if he isn't gun shy when he returns. But yeah, I agree. A prolong beating does ruin fighters faster.
