Everyone knows - from commentators to fans to the other fighters - that Kessler is the top dog to fight against and beat, if you truly want to call yourself the SMW champion. Why isn't he fighting then? Is he hiding??
No, he's not.
No one wants to fight him.
3 times this year alone, he's been in the states to make a fight happen and get some attention. To no avail.
He has openly challenged every good fighter out there at 168 or around that, saying he’ll meet them anywhere anytime.
He has on several occasions proved, that he'll travel and fight in someone else’s backyard not being afraid of home court-judges or frantic home boy-fans.
What more can you ask?
The fact is, that no one wants to fight him!! No one.
Forget about which fight is less dangerous, but pays more money. Forget about which fight is easier to win.
In fact forget about all arguments as to why the contenders at 168 should not fight Kessler, because there is no valid argument!
He's the man to beat and unless the other fighters do not offer themselves to him, they are nothing but pathetic, weak moneyslappers.
I understand that it’s difficult for the other fighters to go against someone, that you’ll likely lose to. As an example, Bute should think to himself. I have my champion-belt, but I want to be considered the best of the 168-pack. Let me prove that I am just that! I’ll challenge Kessler and we’ll then see if he wants to fight me! Why isn’t he trying to face Kessler then then? Well all could see, that Andrade had him beat, when they fought, and when you then consider the lesson Kessler gave Andrade, you understand why Bute is in no hurry to fight Kessler.
If you want to be considered a champ, you must have heart, balls and be brave enough to go after the best in your division. You must challenge them and accept their challenges without regard to money or lesser, but more prestigious opposition and only then can you call yourself a true champion.
Many have said, that Kessler’s merits are not that good, but I have to oppose to that strongly. By today, his opponents might not be considered the best of the best, but by the time, he fought them, most of them were the ones to beat. They were the best at that time. I remind you, that being known in the US, does not equal being the best. Although most of Kessler’s adversaries were fairly unknown in the states, they were still considered to be in the top of the SMW division.
The SMW division is supposed to be an action packed division with boxers stronger than middleweights and faster than heavyweights and the boxers – IMO - are supposed to fear no one and fight all. But what have we?
Nothing but a lot of ducking and excuses!!
I say to all contenders in Super Middle Weight. Unless you try to get or accept a fight with the top dog in the division, you shouldn’t box, ‘since you’ve got no heart!!
That top dog is Mikkel Kessler.
Face the best or shut up!
