Greg: When I arrived at the office today, one of my colleagues sent me this excerpt from an interview you had with Bob Arum last week discussing Paul Williams and Antonio Margarito.
EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: THE BOBFATHER
By G. Leon
GL: Why did Margarito take less money to fight Mosley than he was offered to fight Paul Williams?
The Bobfather: The Paul Williams thing was different, with all that Dan Goossen bull****. Typical Dan Goossen and Al Haymon bull****. It never was real, it meant nothing, we knew it meant nothing. These guys wouldn't know how to put on a PPV event if they fell over it.
GL: When you say the $4 million was bull****, does that mean you feel it was never really there?
The Bobfather: It was never there.
=======
In response, I have two things to say and I'll keep it short and sweet:
1) We are pleased to learn that Bob is the only promoter that can undertake a successful pay-per-view event. Maybe "I was lying yesterday, and telling the truth today" is the stimulus of Bob's continued erratic and uncivilized verbal behavior? Or may be because Bob feels his own "$8 Million Dollar offer" to Floyd Mayweather was all BS??? As a fellow promoter of Bob's, I'll let our record speak for itself.
Such in the case that Bob, to this day, neglects to recognize that not only did our company, Goossen Tutor Promotions pay Floyd Mayweather $8,000,001 to fight the linear Welterweight World Champion Carlos Baldomir in his next immediate match after "Bob's offer," but the pay-per-view event we promoted was very successful, especially considering the lack of name recognition of Baldomir. In other words, Goossen Tutor paid Mayweather more than Bob had "offered" Floyd and in the Margarito case, Bob took close to $2 Million Dollars LESS of his fighter's money not to fight Paul Williams!
2) As for Bob's profanity laced words, Bob has no other explanation, at least a correct and rational one, of "why he would leave Millions of Dollars of his fighter's money on the table?" How do you tap dance out of that one with your fighter? I'll leave it at that!
On a closing thought, the only willing fighter for Paul to fight last month was in the super welterweight division, although today he is still able to comfortably fight as a welterweight. So remember, there is ONLY ONE Welterweight Champion today and its Paul Williams. Just ask Antonio Margarito.
All my best to you and a Merry Christmas to all of our fans.
