By Cliff Rold - It’s an odd year when not only do the two best Middleweights in the world not fight each other, they pick up their best wins in non-title catchweight rematches of the Middleweight fights that made them. Such was the case as World champion Kelly Pavlik met and defeated Jermain Taylor for a second time while IBF titlist Arthur Abraham stopped rival Edison Miranda. I'd like to stop hearing about Miranda. He has had tons of shots and he loses every time. He is not a champion.Comment

Sturm fighter of the year? You're on crack. Abraham was willing to come to the US and fight a guy who broke his jaw. Abraham kicked his ass. He also defended twice, including easily beating the guy who won the "fight of the year." Sturm continued fighting at home against mediocre opposition. He beat an amateur (Pittman), a C-level "contender" in Griffin and a European-champion-level fighter in Sylvester. Oh yeah, and he continued to call out Abraham with no intention of actually fighting him because Abraham would knock his ass out. Even Pavlik, who beat Taylor and Ko'd Lockett before losing to Hopkins, had a better year than SturmComment
