Pacquiao-Hatton Fight Site Dispute, Could Oscar Step in?

I really doubt it's Hatton or Pacquiao nagging about the location of the fight.
They could care less where the fight is gonna be.. they just want to fight.
In my opinion I think Pacquiao deserves a fight in his home country though.
When is the last time he fought infront of a hometown crowed?Comment

Hardly, there are folks queueing up to fight both Pacquiao and/or Hatton at the moment. And the only sniff we have had so far from PBF is regarding Hatton and not Pac. Sure Arum is in the driving seat, but there's no need for the Hatton camp to cave in rather than negotiate; Ricky brings as much to this fight in terms of gate and PPV receipts as Pac and he is the ONLY guy, including PBF, who can do that.
It all depends what else is in the table.
Pacquiao won't care. Hatton would actually prefer Manchester to Wembley or Vegas I suspect, not so much because it's his home town as having the fight at the home of his beloved Manchester City. What US fans may not know is that there is now an effectively unlimited pot of Arab oil money behind that club which might both add to the purse of a fight held there, and allow a show the likes of which would make Vegas look like a club venue. Who knows, that and 50,000 or so fans might appeal to PBF's ego. If that were on offer, Arum is no longer calling the shots.I really doubt it's Hatton or Pacquiao nagging about the location of the fight. Being P4P #1 dont mean **** when you are the CHALLENGER. Pacquiao is the CHALLENGER. He'll get less money than Hatton too.
Hatton holds all the cards, he can easily pick somebody else to fight and still sell out a stadium. Paquiao needs Hatton to get his $$$$ on, Hatton dont need Pac though.
Arum will be told to shut his mouth and take whats on offer. Pacquaio will get the shorts just like he did vs Oscar....P4P #1 didn't mean **** there either.Last edited by The Gunner; 12-19-2008, 03:28 AM.Comment

Hatton is the second biggest draw in boxing. I don't know how Arum can be in a position to decide where the fight will be held. The only big fight for Pac is Mayweather and Hatton. Mayweather is not coming out of retirement, so that just leaves Hatton. Without Hatton, Pac can only fill out a moderately sized casino, and get 300,000 ppv numbers. Hatton on the other hand can fight Marquez or Judah, and attract +50,000 people with large domestic ppv numbers.
Hatton should be making the terms. Arum can let Manny fight Cotto, or Margarito and get his ass kicked.
Hatton Vs Pac needs to happen.Comment

The fight is 50-50.. Purse isn't an issue here but the venue itself..How many PPV itself did Hatton bring in the US before he fought gayweather? Yeah he sold out 55k how many did he earned with that cheap price tickets? Yeah people will never remembered Hatton as a great fighter.. Legacy wise he's not even worth paying attention aside from money.Being P4P #1 dont mean **** when you are the CHALLENGER. Pacquiao is the CHALLENGER. He'll get less money than Hatton too.

You're idiot.. Pac doesn't need Hatton. His legacy is already solidified. Maybe Hatton needs something after getting knock the F U C K out.Last edited by MakeDamnSure; 12-19-2008, 03:34 AM.Comment

Hatton made around £6m for the Lazcano fight. Around $12m at the time. Had Pac even made $12m before he fought Oscar?Comment

The Hattons don't just want the extra dollars. They know if the fight's in England Rick will be able to wrestle and hit and hold all he wants. Arum is smart to want the fight in vegas, where they probably won't let that happen.Comment
