well weather they have Taylor by the balls or not I agree with you. Taylor needs to go for a title, even if Froch won a Vacant belt, a title fight is more significant to Taylor.

because at this point in his career, unless it's Calzaghe probably won't be on PPV anyway

so why not let him cash in on his #1 WBC ranking and take on Froch

    vs a rematch with Winky.

Froch might not be a household name in the states

but even Winky doesn't exactly tear down the house in regards to name recognition.

Here's what HBO should do. A card next spring, let's say March or April, double main event, Taylor v Froch, Winky v Kessler, the winners can fight each other in September or October and they could even have the losers fight each other in another double main event.

I never said Taylor was untouchable. But the fact that he is the mandatory challenger for the WBC belt means that a rematch with Winky is the wrong fight for him.

And like I said, in your opinion what has Winky done to deserve a big payday on HBO without stepping into the ring in forever? He's not on the level with DLH or RJJ where he can just command meaningless fights for big money based on legend alone.

^ that would be a better idea

Kessler is trying to get a fight in March on HBO anyway .. vs Winky would be a good fight for him

and Taylor-Froch takes care of that

would make a very good B.A.D

Winky has traveled the world fighting for a name when HBO couldn't care less about him. He took more risks than most of the active fighters in the game today. Wink deserves another shot regardless of his recent accomplishments. They wouldn't even be fighting for a belt anyway

              Boxrec merchant.

Alex Rios, for one, was out cold on the mat from one punch. Not sure why boxrec lists it as a tko but I wouldn't trust everything you read there.

That's just one example, but there are probably others as well.

Is it likely he would KO Froch? Not really, but with Froch's abysmal defense it's not out of the question.

I respectfully disagree. It would be one thing if he'd only been out of the ring a year, but it will have been almost two years by the projected date for this fight. And he's a 37 y/o not known for maintaining top physical conditioning between fights.

You can at least concede that it would be best for everyone involved, from a ring rust standpoint, to a marketing standpoint, if Winky took a tune up fight first?

Yes,it would be much better if Wink took a tune up fight, but his ego would not allow him to fight for little money. It is his downfall and I feel this is his last chance for recognition. Taylor still has a long time left in his career while Winky may be ready to go. Go tell Taylor to give the Winkster a break

I agree that Winky's ego his his downfall... well, that and his work ethic. If he were willing to get himself back down to 160 for a big fight, then a tune-up wouldn't be quite as big a deal IMO... it's just that 168 is so far from his best weight. Winky vs. P-Will makes more sense to me at this point...

Winky deserves a bout with any of the best. Hopkins was lucky
the judges had their heads up their asses. A master boxer ,.i love
watching him make opponents look bad. Why do you think he has been inactive? They fear him and thats not due to his punching power.
