Makes me wonder how many potentialy good to great fights HBO has actually f#cked up just because they would rather put a match of name fighters on TV instead of a good to great fight with lesser name fighters. **** nobody really know who the hell Winky Wright is anyway.

LOL atleast let hime get a warm up fight and then lets make this **** happen, Froch should be on the back-burner anyway i aint aint read or seen to much of **** on dude except on this site by **** brits or welshmen or whatever ****ing country you internet immagrents are from!Last edited by GreatestIam; 12-19-2008, 09:04 AM.Comment

Do HBO not like their viewers or something? Taylor-Wright was an abysmal fight, Froch isn't very good but he has an OK chin and decent power and would make for a good match with Taylor (with a likely American victor too), that would be made for HBO. Winky is awful to watch.Comment

WTF is this?????
First Taylor didnt fight Froch cos he wanted to fight a more recognised name to make money. you can let the slide cos he's coming off losses. Now Froch has the WBC title, Taylor has to fight him or another titlist. if he fights Winky he officially becomes a joke and i would lose a lot of respect for him! I know Taylor might not have the full say in it but he should put his foot down on this one.
I'm not saying he HAS to fight Froch, but he absolutely HAS to fight a titlist or a prime up & coming contender. otherwise he's just gonna have fought 2 shot fighters. Nothing like kicking off his SMW campaign with a whimper.Comment

BoxingScene.com was advised that HBO is not willing to approve a super middleweight bout between WBC champion Carl Froch and mandatory Jermain Taylor. Instead, HBO is trying to make a rematch between Taylor and Winky Wright. Wright, as you may remember, was due a date on HBO last September. The network would eventually renege on Winky, and handed the date to Golden Boy Promotions for Mosley-Mayorga. [details]
One of the major obstacles in boxing is the networks. They should be more careful about signing guys who scare away the fans, and Winky Wright is one of them. Carl Froch is the flavour of the month, and would produce an interesting style match with Taylor. Wright on the other hand is getting older, slower and coming to the end of his career. His fights are generally boring, and this is not likely to change any time soon.Comment
