assuming Hatton doesn't somehow manage to beat Pacman he'll probably be pretty obscure in comparison to how massive he is now

Ali fought everyone there was to fight, he was the heavyweight king, he was a mouthpiece for the civil rights era. Mayweather was good (he's retired still so it's past tense) but he retired early and didn't have all of the fights he could have had. As for image, Ali was bombastic. Mayweather had the same diamond crusted bill throwing rapper image that has been seen a hundred times.

I think Mayweather will fall well off the radar if he stays retired.
