Michael Katsidis vs. Angel Hugo Ramirez Set For Jan. 31

Lightweight contender Michael Katsidis (23-2, 20KOs) will return on January 31 against Angel Hugo Ramirez (19-4-2, 8KOs) in Cebu City of the Philippines. Katsidis returns for the first time since the September split-decision loss to Juan Diaz. Like most fighters from 130 to 147-pounds - he wants a crack at Manny Pacquiao. [details]

Manny could have a target practice with him, but won't happen.

I was hoping Katsidis would get rid of Brendan Smith.

God damn it! That prick is still there. Man, I really feel for Katsidis. He has some hope to be a big lightweight star if he gets rid of that hack trainer. There is so much he could have done, and be doing, better if he had a better trainer.

Anyway, I think this is the type of fight he should have taken after the Casa loss instead of going straight back into a fight against Diaz. That put him back quite a way, and so I think this is a good fight for him right now.

If only he would get a new trainer then I would be happy, because with the same trainer you just know that he could be doing so much better and winning the fights that should have been winnable for him instead of being told the worst advice in boxing history!

                  LOL. Me too.

I like how he said Hatton would beat Pac. I'm saying that Pac will beat Hatton, but you can't just say something like that about a fighter like Pac.

I don't know what he's smoking if he thinks kats is going to land a shot at Pac.

I agree, I just watched Katsidis vs Diaz again in HD and after watching it Kats has to make some adjustments and the advice coming from Smith was laughable. He sound like someone who knows **** all about boxing.
It was funny going into the later rounds he kept saying "Everything is okay".
