WBA junior middleweight champ Daniel Santos (32-3-1 23KOs) was scheduled to make the first defense of his title against Nobuhiro Ishida on January 3 in Japan, but the fight was called off and the reason as to why Ishida is unable to move forward is unknown. Santos, obviously frustrated, has been unable to secure an opponent since he won the title by knocking out previously undefeated Joachim Alcine in July. [details]

Williams vs Santos, but I bet you Williams aint fighting Santos. He have that crush on Margarito and he wont take a risky fight, that if he loses he can kiss Margarito good bye!!!!! Although it could be good this are the last 2 who have beated Margarito!!!!!!Last edited by Ch@mpBox@PR; 12-18-2008, 01:55 AM.Comment

if he Beats Santos, he can call out Marg some more saying he "punished" Santos and to stop ducking him. makes sense.Comment

You can't say for sure there has been no indication that it will ever happen. And why if Cotto chose to fight as #1 he would not have vacated. He made more money fighting Phillips then Jennings (if he wanted that fight)Comment

Fighting Santos gives Williams alot of upside. I doubt he comes back to 147. He can basically rule 154 for years to come. Only way he goes to 47, is for Cotto/Marg. No reason to think about 47 anymore.. 54 and 60 is there for the taking. Especially with upcommers Angulo, Kirkland, Chavez [lmao]. Like i said before, Williams has big times ahead and he will take advantage.Comment

This is ****ing Simple. Keep your title, Fight Jenings or whoever, then fight either Quintana 3 or Clottey in the Summer while Margarito and Cotto finish their bussines. And what would you have at the en of the year? A undisputed title match vs Either Cotto or Margarito. What else would off made sense?Comment
