Hopkins at 170 looked bad against Winky
Hopkins at 175 looked bad against Calzaghe
Hopkins at 170 looked great against Pavlik

See? It's not the weight, it's the opponent. Pavlik couldn't adapt, so Hopkins could do whatever he wanted to. He just toyed with him, but Calzaghe adapted and made Hopkins fight when he didn't want to, and even though he wasn't landing clean he was pressuring and hitting Hopkins all the time. And at 43, Hopkins just couldn't keep up..
Exactly T ......but the part that says "hitting Hopkins all the time" where was he hitting Hopkins? in scoring areas? where? all I know is that Joe landed more punches on the air than he did on B-Hop.

You can pretty much lock the thread up after this response.

It gives a totally comprehensive and accurate response to the topic.

All that I am saying is at 170 Bernard beats Joe. He beat Joe the first time and didnt get the decision because he got tired and so on. Bernard at 170 is in better shape and doesnt get tired so easily. Bernard win a wide UD in B vs Joe 2.
He hasn't proved that at all.

Pavlik and Calzaghe are nothing alike. Calzaghe adapted and forced Hopkins to fight, Pavlik didn't do that. That's why Hopkins got tired, not the weight...

At 175 he dominated Tarver, and didn't get tired. Why? Because Tarver fought a similar fight to Pavlik..

Oh no, they weren't clean punches, but they were effective. He was landing on arms, shoulders etc, not really note worthy by themselves and infact, looked down right pathetic. However, the constant pressure and Calzaghes constand punching (Slap PWN! Before someone says it ) wore him down.

I suppose my wording wasn't great, but you get what I mean. When you want a break, and someones on top of you, throwing punches, it wears you out mentally and physically.

They weighted both 173 how 3 pounds will tire you out. Thats nonsense. This people will not give credit to Calzaghe never. Like you said Calzaghe adapted Pavlik and Tarver didnt.!!!!!

So let me guess, you would swallow Joe's load?

Damn, I knew I was right.

Joe fought the same at LH and SM, no change in style dumb ass. He would fight the same way because thats the way he fought against Mikkel, Bernard and Roy and his whole ****in career.

Its not like he has to carry power to 175 because he aint got none. He throws punches, I mean, SLAPS in bunches. Style wise there would be no change from Joe.

The only logical way this fight should happen is if both of them agree to square off at CW. Therefore, nobody can ***** about the weight.
