    Is ALA GYM Closing down?

2008 has been dismal for the high-tech, world famous ALA boxing gym of Cebu who have claimed in the past to have in its fold the next Pacquiao.

Their two top boxers Boom Boom Bautista and AJ Banal lost big time, the former against hand-picked bantamweight Heriberto Ruiz in a pathetic performance that caused Bautista to lose his Ring Magazine ranking, while the later said "no mas" against an unknown boxer he was supposed to easily win over but was instead made to quit in front of adoring Cebuano fans. Z Gorres' 2008 hasn't been fruitful either as his slot in the Hatton vs. Malignaggi card was usurped by stable-mate Bautista only to give another mediocre display of Cebu boxing. Another promising boxer, Michael Domingo on the otherhand was found to have Hepa B, basically ending his boxing career. If that isn't enough, their website has been down for sometime now. Are they closing down, or are they switching to MMA?

Just don't let him drink the water there, it's laced with mediocrity.
