you can still have draws in fights with odd numbered rounds

i was talking to a mate recently (he boxes too) and he was saying what if the round times in a 12 round boxing match were varied ie:

round 1 would be 5 minutes

rounds 2-5 would be 3 minutes

rounds 6-8 would be one minute

rounds 9-11 would be 3 minutes

and the 12th round would be 5 minutes

he thinks that if the round times were varied it be more diverse and exciting, eg: the 3 min rounds would be fought at a more regular pace, the 5 minute rounds would be more slow and
tactical and the 1 minute rounds would be exciting punch-outs

i know this probably would never happen and would lead to questions such as "well what would you do for 4,6,8 and 10 round fights" but its just a thought

does anyone think it would make boxing more exciting??

it could be worth it for like a breakaway organization, to experiment with something like this, just the curiosity from it would garner them instant attention, maybe it would be a success maybe it wouldnt, but could be worth a try
