Oscar was looking for away out against Pacquiao. In the 7th round, he stood in the corner taking shot after shot, hoping that someone, anyone would stop the fight. And finally after the 8th when Nacho said he was stopping the fight, Oscar never protested. He wished they had stopped it a round earlier.
With that said, Oscar does not have that special will to dig deep down inside and continue on through real adversity. That "Diego Corrales" type will. You all know what I'm talking about. The desire to fight on, when there's a minimal chance you can turn things around.
When things got tough for him against Bernard Hopkins, his only way out was to act like that body shot caught him right in the sweet spot, the liver. He was so tense in that fight that he blew his load early on. When B-Hop started to press him more and picked up the action Oscar was pretty much toast. A left to the body and Oscar finds his way out; not as bad as getting beat up and stopped. An honorable way to go out, so he thought. But we all know that **** was fake.
When I seen him in there against Manny with a "someone get me the hell outta here" look on his face, it convinced me that he took a dive against Bernard.
Bye Oscar.
