Being your own promotor in professional boxing?

say you have 0 fights. Would it be possible to pave your own boxing career, matching yourself as a promotor and promoting all the shows you fight in?. If i save my money and invest as a promotor/boxer. I think i could make some decent revenue, im a pretty smart business man. And i have 46 amateur bouts 31-15 record. Im 29 right now. What do you all think of this idea. Fail or possibility to make some cash if done right.

It's hard to do everything yourself and focus on fighting at the same time. A lot of boxers, after the making it big, co-promote their fights but still have others working for them. How about managing yourself and working with numerous promoters kind of like a "free agent."..

the fighters i know who turned pro without the right people behind them ended up in fights where they were over their heads with guys they shouldn't have been fighting that early on. all of them were good amateurs who now have lousy or mediocre pro records as a result. they basically got paid to be short notice opponents for guys with more experience. i'd say you don't necessarily need to sign with a promoter, but you definitely need a manager who you trust will look out for your best interest.

i disagree. having someone to manage you is way more important than signing with a promoter off the bat.
