    Marquez notable wins

Barrera - arguably past his prime
Casamayor - Probably past his prime
    Medina - Past his prime

Do doubt he is very skilled boxer but how can anyone impress with his resume if his notable wins are from past primed fighters? i mean wtf why too many rate him so high? even in pound for pound list... Maybe cuz he got a Draw in Pacman and ALMOST a win but Judges favored Pacman for the KD and work rate...

      Jmm

JMM has fought everyone, never ducked anyone. Gave Pacman hell for two fights and is his toughest foe ever. Was robbed against Norwood and John, and both fighters were good champions. Beat Barrera and kod Casamayor, two future Hall of Famers. he has an outstanding resume and is all but a shoo in for the HOF

Freddie Norwood yes he is a good champion but John is not yet tested i dont think he can be a star in boxing world even he beat JMM still most of boxing fans don't know him...

For Barrera and Casamayor they all past their prime before Marquez fought them...
More and more people gives a lot of credit to Marquez for beating those two past primed hofers.

If you think about it, this thread has a valid point. JMMs career defining moment is a "draw" (despite judges error) with Pacman. And his best wins were against an aging Barrera (who has already pummeled by Pacman in 2003) and an aging Casamayor (Scorecards say he won against Santa Cruz but we all know otherwise).

Lets be honest about it. This is not a very impressive resume. The only reason why he is so high on peoples list is becoz of his association and history with PAC, who happens to be the P4P best fighter of the generation. Talent wise though, he is way up there. But achievement wise? No.

You can rip almost any fighter's resume apart if you try bro.

Put it this way, back in 1978, Marvin Hagler fought a guy with 38 losses. It was Hagler's 45th pro fight. Does it make Hagler any less good than he really was? Shortly before that, he fought a guy with 27 losses.

Can you imagine the **** someone like Calzaghe would get on here if he fought a guy with that kind of a record?

Sometimes you just know, despite what the record says, that you are looking at a fighter with serious talent. It's the way in which that fighter wins that's more important.

Getting a draw with the P4P #1 is no embarrassment, even with knockdowns.

Agreed. Getting a draw with P4P#1 is an achievement in itself. Whats embarassing though is JMM bitching about it and crying to the world he should have won.
