Best body puncher ever (not one shot, cumulative/consistent)?

I'm watching Williams take apart Phillips's body right now, and reminisced about what Forrest did to Mosley's body in their first fight in the 10th round, so I got to thinking about body punching.

Obviously someone like Cotto is a tremendous body puncher, but he usually ends **** with one shot, because he has sledgehammers for hands and hits very hard.

I'm interested in fighters who consistently did body work all night long to really wear a fighter down.

The name Mike McCallum comes to mind... I've never seen him (because I can't find a decent copy of Toney/McCallum I), but... I've heard he was a beast to the body.

    Who else comes to mind?

McCallum was the most accurate and devestating I ever saw.

Funny thing is cotto let me down, I thought his body punches is what would tire Margarito out in the later rounds... But he barely threw them because he was afraid of getting countered, it was actually Margarito who landed the more body shots in that fight if I remember correctly.

Well, Cotto was backpeddling at times against a pressure fighter which isn't always the greatest thing to do... I don't know how much more margarito weighed fight night though.

I know I'm going to regret saying this, because idiots are going to turn this into a race war, but... here goes:

I find it amusing that the best body puncher ever was black, because it is usually the latino fighters who just crush the body. Body punching makes all the sense in the world to me, so... he must have had some damn good training to give him the discipline to go to the body so much.

There is a reason Margarito got hit in the face so many times... his arms were busy protecting that body all night long. He knew where Cotto's best chance in the fight laid, and that was in his rib cage.

You have already shown you know a ****ton about the sport, so I'll consult you...

Recommend me the best of McCallum's body work in one please.

These body shots that Williams is landing are making me cringe.

Oh yeah, I'll add Barrera's first fight against Morales. For the life of me, I have no idea how Morales took those bombs... that **** hurt my sides a little just to watch that. That was at 122 where Barrera was a puncher, and that was still his money punch... Just devastating to the body.

JCC was a great body puncher, as stated above, McCallum was great at going to the body without getting hit back himself, he was definitely the best I've seen at doing that, going to the body while protecting himself at the same time. Duran was great as well.

Guys like Leonard, Hearns, Hagler and Whitaker had great body punches but they don't get much mentioning, Whitaker especially, there are many more.

Barrera was indeed a very good body puncher and he landed some sledgehammer body shots against Morales that night.

As Silencers said, if you want to watch a very underrated body puncher, try to get your hands on Whitaker/Diaz, Whitaker/Haugen and Whitaker McGirt I. Just three examples of Whitaker's great ability to dig to the body. He'd jab his way inside and he'd let loose with big hooks to the ribs. He really turned on em too. He'd often wait until he had you a bit tired or frustrated until he'd concentrate on going hard to the body. Obviously the damage he inflicted came from several series of body punches, as Whitaker wasn't a devastating puncher.

Skip forward to about 3:50 in this vid (or just watch the whole thing because it is dominance):

Joe Frazier was the best cumulative body puncher I can think of. Mike McCallum as well.

Alexis Arguello was a damned good body puncher, especially because a lot of his best body punches came in combination. The Kobayahsi fight and his fights with Pryor and Escalera proved that much to me. He is often remembered for his devastating right cross, but he always remembered to come back with the left hook afterwards; it was often a tough punch for his opponents to take too.

Jose Luis Castillo was always a good accumulation body puncher. Chavez and Duran are shoe-ins like Frazier and McCallum.

              Lastly:

Vassiliy Jirov. One of the best ****in body punchers in the last 10-20 years for sure. People only remember him for his memorable fight with James toney, but the guy could flat out mash to the body otherwise. Try to find his fights with Terry McGroom and Julian Letterlough. His left hook to the body was savage.

Cotto's not a one shot guy with body shots. Watch the Torres fight again...in my opinion that was his best body work. Torres had to take rounds off, and every time he went to his corner, even after his good rounds, he looked uneasy. It was because of the body work, where he gets KO'd Cotto hardly hits him, Torres's body was just in horrible shape. He's a great accumulation body puncher, he sets up all of his opponents with his body work.

Obviously, it's WAY too soon but put him up there with guys like JCC and McCallum, but I just thought I'd point that out.
