As for this thread, a large contingent of people would be hurting after this fight it really does not matter which side wins, the other side would be obnoxious.
Manny Pacquiao doesnt get nearly out position as he used to. in fact its not even a problem for him anymore imo because he no longer really lets loose with his flurries like he used to a couple years back. his in and out technique has grown to be outstanding and he has just turned himself into one of the smartest boxers in boxing! every time he does go into the offensive its because its perfectly calculated and because he knows his opponent is hurt ready to be finished off.

He is better now, I will admit. Those were not against fighters like Floyd though, if he gets out of position for an instant he could get tagged and knocked down, I have no clue if he can really hurt Manny badly would have to see the fight to know but he can knock him down.

It is easy to look smart against fighters that let you have your way in the ring. What will he do with someone actively attacking his game plan, I have never seen Manny really adjust in a fight (does not mean he can't do it), so I have never really seen him in a situation that would make him use his in ring smarts.

Well i guess the only way any of us will really truly know is if Floyd Mayweather Jr buckles up and makes his comeback! Which i have my doubts about to be honest, we still have no real indication that he will comeback except for mostly speculation and some rumors of family members saying he will return...

              If Manny were to win,

stans would say Floyd had ring rust and was past his prime.

They would start to talk about how they started seeing signs of slippage many fights ago.

Yeah, that sounds about right. In addition to that, they will also use the excuse about how "his body is breaking down"

Well it was Floyd's choice to take off 2 years so it would be his own fault he has ring rust. The time off is part of the reason I give Manny a much better chance then I would have in the past. Taking 2 years off could effect him, there really is no way around it, no one knows how it would until fight night really though.

I guess it would be an excuse, but if he looked terrible the 2 years off obviously would not have served him well. Everything happeans for some kind of reason though.

I will say this though you will hear the term ring rust used more leading up to this fight (if it comes off) then ever before in your life.

If pacman wins over money via default, he will have won against hatton (junior-welterweight crown), challenge cotto for the welterweight belt (if cotto wins 1/09), then challenge a weaker super-welterweight champ.

IF that happens, pacman would then have broken ALL records, champ in 7 weight divisions. Imagine that. And challenge Marg before he retires. He becomes an ATG #1.
