Why won't Vernon Forrest fight Sergio Martinez?

You do have to admit... opening the house for mentally disabled adults is a pretty solid move independent of anything else.

He is a **** talker though, and generally isn't good at it, and he doesn't really back it up that well.

Forrest has done some good work with kids too. He's certainly not the worst person in boxing by a longshot.

But he is a whining crybaby and sometimes he shows very little class. I love how he's complained for so many years about fighters ducking him (even though he is worthless at the box office and expects big bucks), and now he won't even step up to fight his own mandatory. His only chance to cash out would be if he can get one of the middleweight champions in the ring. He won't be getting Pavlik anytime soon, and would have to go to Germany for an Abraham or Sturm fight to make any money.

You are clearly right... he is a douche of a person in regards to the sport...

I remember him blocking Mora fighting Oscar... why would anyone do that? How could you bear so much malice towards a guy who is just doing the best he can for himself (Mora) and has a chance at the opportunity of a lifetime, and you block it... and are happy about it.

Then he beat him, and taunted Mora that there would be no third match, and Mora can't even make the weight anymore.

I do hope he can get his big payday and then go away... Not to be a prick, but he is on the downside, and not fighting mandatories is the first sign of someone being a worthless addition to the sport.

Because Forrest is old and only has a few fights left. He needs only big names. Who the **** is Sergio Martinez to him or casual fans?

I think Vernon Forrest is the best possible opponent for martinez in February. He has to fight Sergio sooner or later anyway, so it may as well be then.

Forrest needs to man up or retire, he doesn't deserve the huge payday he's looking for.
