It depends I suppose, being ambidexterous in the 'real' world (writing, using scissors etc) may not translate 100% to boxing. Also, you could be equally adept with both hands, but they could both be crap.

You need to be clear what you mean by 'ambidextrous' as well. A lot of talented sportsmen can use either side just as well without being truly ambidextrous. Soccer players use either foot equally well, snooker or pool players can cue either way, and so on. Doesn't mean they can write with both hands, or play all other sports left or right handed. With some sports it's a lot more common than others; in golf it's VERY rare, for example.
