Lopez wasnt "damn near retired" he was still champion, It wasnt as if Alvarez fought him when Lopez had just lost. Ricardo was the man to beat at the time. Lopez was very lucky not to lose the first fight and the 2nd was very close also. Mayweather has never been that close to losing.

The Augustus fight was a tough fight but he was never about to lose that fight. It was hard but you can't say he lost more than 2 rounds, He hit Augustus way more than he got hit. Augustus made him fight but it wasnt a close fight. The Castillo fights were close also, But Floyd fought the first fight injured and still won. Castillo was not robbed, He got over it. The guy was basically throwing only body punches only. Floyd jabbed him silly, and the rematch he won clearly...

Seeing as you are so keen. Tell me one of Mayweather's flaws...

Did you just started watching boxing? What was the fight that got you hooked? Floyd-Gatti or Floyd-Oscar? because, I know anybody who has watched boxing especially Floyd can not say "Floyd has not been that close to losing."

Hell now I even see **** that can be capitalized on. He aint a spring chicken no more. Was almost KO'd in 2 rounds.

He is still an awesome fight, arguably still the best in the sport. But, he is not as fast as he use to be, he can't put combos together like before, his reflexes are not like before, but still pretty damn good. Just comparing him to the Floyd before is not the same. But, of course he is not the same. He is 32 now, father catches up with everybody.

He should have been the first one there to help his fighter out. Instead , he stayed on his seat and blamed hatton for not "listening".
