Leonard "could have" fought Pryor, but a welterweight champ has no obligation to fight an 140 lb. champ. If Pryor had made some noise at welterweight, then that's a different story.
Funny, Hatton was able to fight Floyd still

Pac will get to face Hatton next.

And, I used this same arguement with Joe Calzaghe {168} and Prime Roy {175, even though he was arguably better at '68}, but the big difference with Joe and Pryor was, Pryor was a legit Champ and threat who showed up to Ray's conference and asked for a fight. Pryor said he didn't get it because of the sparring sessions...as well as beating Hearns in the amatuers couldn't have helped.

I don't know who would have won but it would have been interesting. Pryor's tendency to keep his chin up wasn't something I liked but the man was a freak that ate them up.

Pryor will sustain too much damage. If he doesnt get KO'ed, his corner will throw the towel to prevent further brain damage.

        Pac KO round 10

Picture a small Margarito with fast hands and power.

          Too much for Manny.

If Mayweather was a natural welter who had fought Cotto, Williams, and Margarito instead of Hatton, he wouldn't have been ducking Hatton either.

Just like Leonard had no obligation to fight the jr. welter champ Pryor.

Pryor was an excellent jr. welter (and probably would've been champ at 135), but I don't like his chances at all against the top welterweights.

I never really cared for Leonard, but I always defend him when it comes to this "he ducked Pryor", "he was scared of him" crap. It's because of **** like this that I've come to dislike Legendary Nights.

What is it with people always making such a big deal out of someone "calling out" opponents? If you're a big name, everyone is gonna challenge you for the payday/event.

The real "calling out" is in the negotations. Which, Leonard did "call out" Pryor in that regard, but Pryor wasn't happy with half a million, so he turned it down.

                  Manny Pryor

I have always compared Manny to Pryor. I see Pryor winning a very brutal fight. If Arguello couldn't knock him out, Manny couldn't as Arguello hit much harder.
