felix sturm turns down vernon forrest

Kendall Holt isn't upset he won't be fighting Ricardo Torres in a rubber match on Saturday. Instead, he relishes the challenge of facing an opponent he wasn't preparing for, writes Dan Rafael.

    • Promoter Gary Shaw, who handles junior middleweight titleholder Vernon Forrest, has talked to German promoter Universum about Forrest moving up to middleweight to challenge titleholder Felix Sturm in early 2009. But Universum, which is looking for a potential unification bout against Kelly Pavlik, declined.

what a pussc scared to take on a 40 year old moving up in weight hes never gonna get big fights........

Guess that Sturm doesnt want a payday, nor wants to be dominant in the division.. Nor be remembered as someone..

Just to be recognized as regular German who failed to step up.

Sturm's career will never progress unless he takes on the big names in the 160 &168 lb divisions. Sturm's offense & defense are solid. Not sure if he can beat the Pavliks or Kesslers of the divisions, but I know he'll give them a run for their money. Sturm needs to decide whats more important...money/fame or unifiying the division.
